Sudha’s Treasures Last Day to Shop!

Sudha’s Treasures benefit store for The Redwoods is on its third day! The event has been a phenomenal success. The store was graced by Doug McConnell who did the opening ceremony. Gary Morgret and Dan Scannell, always on hand, made the store look spectacular with their displays. From the Board of Directors of the Redwoods Barbara Solomon, Jill Greenman, Joanne Spotswood worked hard to help set up the store. The House of Pennathur team Craig Potter (G.M. -as cashier), Jim Prigoff (Board Chair, as cashier), Usha Kris (Photographer), Ed Messerly (computer support) and Cesar worked untiringly to get the store’s products and systems up and running. The team work from the staff at the Redwoods and Board and other volunteers. was something to be proud of !

All this would not have been possible without the support of Stan

Hoffman of the Town Center in Corte Madera who generously donated the space for this non-profit event. With one day to go , we are all hopeful we will double our sales goal with my donation to the Redwoods. Please join us today.

Donation to The Redwoods

Jill Greenman, Chair of The Redwoods, formally received a $30,000 check from The House of Pennathur as a donation from the proceeds of the fund raiser on October 5th featuring Sudha’s unique collection of jewelry at Elisabeth Theriot’s estate. Sudha & Ed personally made a matching contribution that made up this figure. It was a rewarding moment for Ed Messerly, Craig Potter and Sudha who had put in innumerable hours getting ready for the sale. Many of the unique designs created for this event sold right away and the big pieces will be shown at Bergdorf Goodman on the 18th and 19th of November at a special appearance by Sudha in New York on the Seventh Floor.

Diamonds in the Sky Gala

The much awaited benefit “Diamonds in the Sky” soirée took place on October 5th at the elegant home of philanthropist, Elisabeth Thieriot. TV personality, of the Bay Area Back Roads fame, Doug McConnell was on hand to kick off the gala evening. I had acquired and designed the jewelry especially for this evening.  A small group of powerful woman from the Board of the Redwoods organized this event, Barbara Young, Jill Greenman, Joanne Spotswood along with the Executive Director , Barbara Soloman and Jeannie Elrod. Gary Morgret did the flowers and display and Joy Spicer (with Gary’ s help) was the official photographer for the evening. The 11 lovely ladies sold the jewelry with as much passion as I had in creating them, each donned in a silk sari! Craig Potter and Jim Prigoff were the cashiers.

Diamonds and gold jewelry was showcased from my collection in all its splendor. Over 80 guests came to celebrate and indulge knowing that their purchases would help renovate and refurbish the main auditorium at The Redwoods making a major difference in the lives of the community of seniors. The evening was a resounding success and could not have been possible without the support of Elisabeth Thieriot, who mingled with the crowd all evening and put her stamp of approval on the event. I am happy to say that Ed and I were able to not only donate all the profits from the sale, but also made a matching grant.
